I've had a passion for creating, preparing, and learning about food from a very young age. As a child, I would imagine I was hosting cooking shows while I emptied my parents' pantry, convinced I was creating unique and delicious dishes - unfortunately, my taste testers might disagree.
The very first cookbook that taught me how to actually prepare a recipe was The Purity Cookbook, first published in 1967 (I believe). Here, I discovered the best butter tart and chocolate chip cookies I knew as a child. This past Christmas I also gifted it to my daughter, because I think every cook needs to own a copy!

On a personal note, I find being in the kitchen has always been like therapy for myself. I battle symptoms of PTSD on a daily basis, and I hope by spending more time in the kitchen and sharing my stories with you it will help me make it through each week, month, season, and year. Let's get started...
